FLOATATION THERAPY

Floatation Therapy

Floatation therapy, also known as floating, involves relaxing in a super saturated Epsom salt solution.  This unique environment enables you to lay back and float effortlessly on the surface of the water.  Being completely free from the forces of gravity, every single muscle in the body is allowed to totally relax without the usual strain of gravity on the body’s postural alignment.

The specially designed floatation room at our Wellness Centre in Exeter is filled to a depth of 25cm (10”) and carefully heated to the temperature of 35.5̊c, which is correct for maintaining the body’s natural temperature without muscular action.  This profound state of relaxation increases the secretion of endorphins into the body creating powerful effects on all levels of your being; the physical, the emotional, the intellectual and the spiritual, providing your body with the opportunity to use its amazing powers of recuperation.

Floatation therapy is an amazing way of attaining the deepest relaxation known to mankind.  In fact within a few minutes it is possible to achieve a level of relaxation which takes many years to attain by classic meditation techniques.
